1 package (8 squares) semi-sweet baking chocolate
1/2 C peanut butter
8 oz tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/3 C powdered sugar
optional coatings: finely chopped pecans, peanuts, or other nut, cocoa powder, flaked coconut, or grated white or other baking chocolate.

In a sauce pan or double boiler, gently melt the chocolate. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until well blended. Cool to room temperature (slightly warm and still soft). Gently stir in the whipped topping. Refrigerate 1 hour. Using a melon baller or teaspoon scoop out mixture and shape into 1" balls. Roll in powdered sugar and/or other coating. Refrigerate.

For larger truffles use a small cookie scoop instead of a melon baller. Will make approximately 1/2 as many truffles.
