2 c. flour
5 level tbsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. lard, melted
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda (if milk is very sour)

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Make a well in the center and pour in buttermilk; stir until dough clings together. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough gently for 10 to 12 strokes. Roll out to 1/2" thickness. Cut with 2-1/2" biscuit cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Transfer biscuits onto cookie sheet. Bake in 450º oven, 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
