1 cup split peas (wash and drain)
1 carrot grated
4 cups water
1 bay leaf
Ham bone
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 small chopped onion
Salt and pepper to taste

Place ingredients in a large pot. Cook until peas are soft and soup is thickened.
