2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 c. onions, finely chopped
1 lb. okra, sliced
2 1/2 c. fresh tomatoes, peeled (may substitute canned)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. curry powder
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 green pepper, chopped (optional)
garlic (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter until browned. Add okra and saute for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and next 4 ingredients. Simmer, covered until the okra is tender.
Note: This dish is good au gratin - put in baking dish and sprinkle with your favorite Italian type cheese and brown under broiler.
Makes 4 servings.
