6 eggs
2 sticks butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
5 tsp lemon extract
5 tsp baking powder
5 cups of flour
pinch of salt

Frosting:
1 lb powdered sugar
5 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Stir ingredients together until well mixed.

Allow butter and eggs to come to room temperature. Blend butter and sugar with a pastry blender. Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing well. Add baking powder, salt, lemon extract, two cups of the flour. Add the last two cups. After all four cups of flour are in, add about 1 cup more, 1/2 cup at a time. Twist each cookie into a knot. Bake on an ungreased sheet at 350 degrees, 10-12 minutes.
