2 green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 cup flour 1 large egg, beaten ½ cup buttermilk ½ cup corn meal 1 teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon pepper
Mix egg and buttermilk. Dredge tomato slices in flour only. Dip in egg and buttermilk mixture. Mix cornmeal, salt and pepper. Dredge in cornmeal mixture. Fry in oil until golden brown. Drain on rack covered with paper towels. Sprinkle hot tomatoes with salt.
