Olive oil
2 cloves garlic, rough chopped
1 small onion, rough chopped
2 large cans plum tomatoes (28oz cans)
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 heaping teaspoon sugar, optional
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper
Fresh basil leaves (right before eating)

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion then add garlic in olive oil. Simmer. Do not brown. Add tomatoes to blender if whole; add sautéed garlic and onion and quickly pulse in the blender. Remove to a pan and add spices. Add 1/4-1/2 can of water(from tomato can) depending on thickness. Simmer, uncovered 1hour. Add fresh basil leaves right before eating.
Makes 4-5 cups.
