1 lb. ground chuck
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 medium onion
Salt and pepper to taste
1 c. sour cream
1 t. sugar
2 c. tomato sauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. wide egg noodles
6 green onions, white and part of light green sliced
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese - room temperature
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350º
Brown ground chuck and onion until meat is cooked
thoroughly. Drain any remaining oil. Add garlic, salt and
pepper cooking another minute. Add sugar and tomato
sauce. Cover and cook slowly about 15 minutes. Cook
noodles according to package; drain. Add onion tops to
cream cheese and sour cream. In a buttered casserole,
layer 1/3 of the noodles; topped with 1/3 meat the 1/3 of
cream mixture. Continue layering ending with the cream
mixture. Top casserole with a generous amount of shredded
cheddar cheese. Bake 30 minutes or until casserole is
bubbling.

This is the actual casserole I made for Beth when she and I were
pregnant with Cory and Nathan. What a great sister! I had to
stop making it because I found myself finishing the entire
casserole in 2 or 3 days.
