1-cup raw cranberries (chopped) ½ cup sugar 2 cups sifted flour ¾ teaspoon soda ¼ cup sugar 1 egg (beaten) ¾ cup sour milk or buttermilk ¼ cup melted shortening
Combine cranberries and ½ cup sugar. Sift flour, soda, salt and ¼ cup sugar together. Make well in dry ingredients. Mix egg, milk, and shortening. Pour liquids all at once into well and stir until mixed. Add cranberries. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
