2 tablespoons butter
2 medium yellow onions, chopped
1 teaspoon salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1 (16 oz) container sour cream
2 tablespoons chopped chives

Directions:
Melt butter in skillet; add onions and cook stirring occasionally 20 minutes or until browned and tender.

Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Remove from heat and let stand 30 minutes.

Stir together onions, sour cream, and chives in bowl. Stir in remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

Cover and chill 30 minutes.

Serve with potato chips
