2/3 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
4 eggs
4 T flour
4 t lemon peel
3 T lemon juice
1/2 t baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and 1/2 cup of the sugar and 2 cups of flour until crumbly. Press in ungreased casserole size pan.

Bake at 350º for 15-18 minutes (until it begins to brown).

Add eggs to remaining sugar, 4 T flour, baking powder and the lemon peel and juice. Pour over the hot crust and bake at 350º for approximately 20 more minutes - until the edges start to brown.

The final bake time may be a bit longer since this was originally for an 8x8 size pan and I doubled all the ingredients since why only make an 8x8 when for the same work you can have twice the lemon bars - yum!
