1/2 c Butter, soft
1/4 c Sugar
1 1/4 c Flour
1 Egg Yolk
3 T Raspberry or Apricot Jam, warm
3/4 c Hazelnuts
3 T Butter
1/2 c Brown Sugar, firmly packed
1 T Heavy Cream
3/4 t Lemon Juice
1 t Vanilla

Combine cup soft butter, cup sugar, 1 cup flour & 1 egg yolk in a bowl with a pastry blender. Pat into a 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.

Spread jam over the warm crust. toast hazelnuts, rub with a towel to remove the skins. chop. Melt butter, add sugar, cream and lemon juice; bring to a boil and boil till sugar is dissolved. remove from heat and add vanilla and hazelnuts. Spread over jam layer and bake 15 minutes more at 350. Cut while warm.
