2 lb. stew beef, cut into 1" pieces
1 (1 1/2 oz) pkg dry onion soup mix
1/2 c. red wine
1 (10 3/4 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (4 oz) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/4 c. quick cooking tapioca (optional)

Combine all ingredients in crockpot. Stir together well. Cover and cook on Low 8 to 12 hours. Serve over noodles or rice.
