6 cups sliced peeled apples
1 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon water
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup butter, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Place apples in ungreased 2-quart casserole baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon, water and lemon juice.

In a large bowl, combine all topping ingredients; mix until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb mixture evenly over apples.

Bake at 375º for 25 to 35 minutes or until fruit is tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

VARIATION:
Peach Crisp - substitute sliced peaches for apples and omit cinnamon.

We usually one-and-a-half the topping recipe because, who are we kidding, we eat apple crisp for the crisp, not the apples.
