1 cup sugar
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 egg yolks, beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cold milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups scalded milk
1 baked pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt with cold milk. Scald (heat until steaming) 1 1/2 cups milk, then add chocolate and stir until melted. Add cold milk mixture. Stir constantly with a whisk until thickened. Add egg yolks and cook for two minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter. Pour into a baked pie shell and cover immediately with plastic wrap, to prevent a skin from forming, and refrigerate.
