1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow cornmeal
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/4 c. soft shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in cornmeal. Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat with electric or rotary beater just until smooth, about 1 minute. Pour into greased 9"x9"x2" pan. Bake in hot oven, 425 degrees, about 25 minutes. Do not overbake
