Ingredients:  
1 C. Dates (cut up)
1 C. Raisins
1 Kinda large apple (cut up fine)
2 C. sugar
1 C. Crisco
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tsp nutmeg
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
2 Cups Hot Water
1 Tlb vinegar
2 Tlb Brandy, Rum, or Sherry extract

Boil the above about 5 mins...let cool until just warm

Add to the above:
3 1/2 cups plain flour
2 tsp soda
2 cups nuts (pecan or wlanuts)

Beat until smooth. Use either tube or loaf pans (3) floured and greased. Cook tube pan about 1 hour. you will have to check loaf pans.
