Ingredients:  
Melt 1/4 cube of margarine and place in bottom or small bundt pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar on top of margarine and them some chopped walnuts.

Mix together:
1/2 scalded milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt

Soften:
2 T. yeast in 1/2 cup warm water
1 T. sugar.
Let stand for 15 minutes.

Add yeast to milk mixture. Add:
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening.
Add:
4-5 cups flour
Mix and let rise. Punch down. Place in refrigerator covered. Take out 2 hours before serving time and shape into balls. Roll balls in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 400º. Turn upside down and add cherries and mint leaves as decorations for Christmas.
