1 (3 lb) can yams
salt
1 (1 lb, 4 oz.) can crushed pineapple in syrup
5 tsp cornstarch
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp grated orange peel
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/3 c. walnut halves

Directions:
Directions:
Arrange yams in shallow baking dish. Sprinkle lightly with salt. Put pineapple with syrup in a saucepan. Combine cornstarch, brown sugar, orange peel and nutmeg. Stir into pineapple. Cook, stirring, over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Add walnuts. Pour over yams. Bake, uncovered, at 350º for 20 - 30 minutes, or until potatoes are glazed.
