1 2/3 cup corn meal
3 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/4 cup melted shortening
1/3 cup white flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sweet milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together all dry ingredients. Add beaten egg, milk and shortening. Stir just to moisten. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 400º for 30 minutes. For muffins, pour into greased muffin tins, bake at 425º for 20-25 minutes.
