Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add sugar, 1/2 cup warm water, milk, 1/4 cup butter, egg, salt and 2 cups of flour. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed, stir in remaining flour to form soft dough. Cover, rise until light and double in size, about 1 hour. Punch down and roll out to 18 x 12 inch rectangle. Spread filling on top.

Cut lengthwise into 3 - 18 x 4 inch strips. Starting with 18 inch side, roll up in jelly roll fashion to form 3 strips and place on well greased cookie sheet and braid, sealing in edges. Cover, let rise about 1 hour.

Bake in 350 degree oven 30-35 minutes. Brush with butter.

Personal Notes:
Make the filling first and put it in the refrigerator. It is much easier to put cold filling onto the dough when sealing in the filling.
