1/2 pound Italian sausage
1/2 pound ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. red wine
32 oz. spaghetti sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
lasagna noodles
2 eggs
2 c. ricotta cheese
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
2 T. parsley
dash pepper
1 lb. sliced mozzarella

Directions:

Brown meat in large skillet. Drain off excess fat. Add garlic, salt and wine. Simmer 3-5 minutes. Add sauce and paste. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10-15 minutes.
Boil lasagna. Drain.
Combine eggs, Ricotta, Parmesan, parsley and pepper.
In a greased 13"x9"x2" pan, arrange lasagna, Ricotta, meat, mozzarella cheese in layers. Save enough sauce to pour over the top. Finish with a layer of cheese. Bake at 350º for 30-45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.

This is a memorable dish -- first made for Bob in a cottage on Nantucket. It is great for bringing to houses with a newborn. The wine adds great flavor.
