Directions:
In saucepan, heat milk (105 to 115). In a bowl, pour 1/4 c. warm milk; stir in yeast along with 1 tsp. sugar. When yeast is dissolved, stir in 1 c. sugar, butter, and remaining milk. Blend in egg and egg yolks, raisins, nuts, salt, nutmeg and lemon peel. Mix in flour to make stiff dough; turn out onto floured surface and knead 10 to 15 minutes till smooth and elastic. In small bowl, blend egg yolk, 2 tbsp of milk and 1/4 tsp sugar. Preheat oven to 350. Brush Houska with half of the egg yolk mixture. Cover and let rise 30 minutes or till doubled.
