4 large bell peppers
5 c. boiling water
8 oz ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 c. cooked brown rice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
3 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce, divided
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese

Cut bell peppers lengthwise into halves. Discard the seeds and membranes. Pour boiling water over the peppers in heat-proof bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes, drain. Plunge the green peppers into cold water to stop the cooking process.

Cook the ground beef with the onion in a skillet. Drain the grease. Stir in cooked rice, 1 can tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt and garlic powder. Mound 1/2 cup of mixture into each pepper half. Arrange stuffed peppers in 9x13" baking dish. Blend remaining 2 cans of tomato sauce with Italian seasoning; pour over the peppers. Bake, covered at 350º for 40-45 minutes; remove cover. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
