1/2 lb. each bulk pork sausage and lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic,minced
2 cans (4 oz each) whole California green chilies, drained and seeded
2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 eggs
1/4 c. flour
1-1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/8 -1/4 tsp. liquid hot pepper seasoning (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Crumble sausage and beef into a frying pan. Set over medium heat and cook, stirring until browned. Drain off fat. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is limp. Set aside. Line an 8" square baking dish with half the chilies. Top with 1-1/2 cups cheese, then the meat mixture, ending with remaining chilies. Beat eggs and flour together until smooth. Add milk, salt, and hot pepper seasoning, beating well. Pour over meat mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 350º for 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes.
