2 c sugar 1 c butter or shortening 2 eggs 3/4 c cocoa 1/2 c boiling water 1 c sour milk (or buttermilk) 1 tsp soda dash salt 2 tsp vanilla flour
Mix sugar, butter and eggs. Stir in cocoa which has been dissolved in boiling water. Dissolve soda in milk and add. Then add vanilla, salt and enough flour to make a stiff dough. Chill dough for a softer cookie. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.
