3 c flour
1 1/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 c milk (sweet or sour)
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 c shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Measure flour, sugar and all dry ingredients. Add shortening and cream well. Break egg in cup and add enough milt to make 1 cup. Add to muxture. Roul out on lightly floured surface to 1/8" thick. Cut with floured cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with sugar before baking or frost when cool.
