1/2 c. cornstarch
3/4 + 1/4 c. cold water, divided
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
2 c. hot water
1/2 c. detergent (powder) or soap flakes
Powdered dye or food color

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch & 3/4 cup cold water in saucepan. In the meantime, soak gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water. Stir hot water into cornstarch mixture & cook over medium heat until it comes to a boil & is smooth. Remove from heat and blend in softened gelatin. Add detergent & stir until dissolved. This makes about 3 cups.

Divide into portions. A powdered dye or food color may be used. Add 1 tbsp of dye for each cup of mixture or a few drops of food color.

Store paint in a jar with tight-fitting lid in a cool place. May be used on glazed shelf paper or butcher paper.
