1 onion, minced
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Barbecue Sauce:
1 1/2 c. tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Meat Loaf: Saute onion in butter until soft. Combine with beef, bread crumbs, egg, tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well. Form into loaf and place in 10" x 14" baking pan. Pour 1/2 c. barbecue sauce (see below) over loaf. Bake at 350º for 1 hr., basting form time to time with remaining sauce.

Sauce: Combine tomato sauce, water, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in saucepan and heat until well blended, stirring. Use to base meat loaf.
