1 Cup soft shortening
2 Cups Brown Sugar packed
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup sour milk, or water or butter milk
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 Cups sifted flour
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Mix together shortening, brown sugar and eggs. Stir in milk, soda, flour, and salt. Chill for one hour. Drop rounded spoonful's about 2 inches apart. Bake until set, just until when touched lightly with finger it leaves no imprint.
