8 frankfurters, split
2 cans (or 1 large) pork and beans
Mustard
8 slices dill pickle
8 slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Pour beans in a dish. Spread split franks with mustard. Put dill pickle slice in each frank and wrap with bacon. Place on top of beans.

Bake at 400º for 30 minutes

One of the first dinners in the first years of marriage. This recipe was found on the Pork & Bean label.

I substitute a length of cheddar cheese for the pickle (as I remember eating when I was a kid). I've taken this meal to families with new babies. Older siblings LOVE it. ~Ann
