2 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Directions:
Sift flour and baking powder together. Cut shortening into flour. Add milk slowly, knead flour mixture 10 times, rool flour out to 1/2 inch thick. With a biscuit cutter, cut out as many as possible. Roll these out until they are about 6 inches in diameter. Make filling out of anything you desire.
Can make pizzas, apple or cherry pies, meat pies, etc.
Egg wash:
Once filling is introduced, apply egg wash.
Tip: don't over fill pie. About 2 tbsp. is enough.
Beat 1 egg and using pastry brush coat 1/2 of outside with egg wash. Fold pie over and with a fork crimp around 1/2 moon shaped pie until completely sealed. These can be fried, baked or deep fried.
