1 pkg yellow or white cake mix
1 pkg (16 oz) frozen strawberry halves, thawed
2 c prepared pudding
1 c chilled whipping cream
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c toasted slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Bake cake in oblong cake pan, 9X13. Cool. Cut cross-wise in half. Reserve one half for another dessert. Cut remaining cake in 8 pieces. Split each in half, horizontally. Arrange 4 in a 2 qt glass serving bowl. Pour half the strawberries (with sauce) over cake. Spread with 1 c pudding. Repeat with remaining cake, strawberries and pudding. Cover. Chill at least 4 hours. In chilled bowl, beat cream and sugar til stiff. Spread over trifle. Sprinkle with almonds and garnish with fresh strawberries. Spoon into dessert dishes.
