1 (14 oz.) bag of caramels
3/4 cup butter
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup nuts
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 cup chocolate chips (1/2 bag)
1/3 cup evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside keeping warm.

Mix cake mix, butter, milk and nuts. Press 1/2 mixture into lightly buttered 9 x 13 pan. Bake 6 to 8 minutes.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked mixture. Pour melted caramel over mixture.

Take the remaining 1/2 cake mixture and spoon evenly over the caramel. Mixture will be clumpy, but get it as evenly spread as possible. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes. (check mixture with toothpick)
