Ingredients:  
1 c.. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp milk
1 lb. candied orange slices
1/2 c. nuts ( optional)
1 c. cocoanut ( optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the white sugar, brown sugar, and shortenings.
Add the eggs and vanilla
Mix together and then add: flour, baking soda, baking powder and oatmeal.
If using cocoanut or nuts add now.
Drop cookies onto greased cookie sheet and add 1/2 of an orange slice
Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 - let cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet
