2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup shortening
1 egg yolk
milk
1 cup corn flakes
8-10 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white
1 cup powdered sugar
3-4 tsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour and 1 tsp. salt; cut in shortening. In measuring cup beat egg yolk; add enough milk to measure 2/3 cup. Mix well; stir into flour mixture. On floured surface roll 1/2 of the dough to 17 x 12 inch rectangle; fit into bottom and up sides of 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Sprinkle with corn flakes. Top with apple slices. Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Roll remaining dough to 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 rectangle. Place over apples. Seal edges; cut slits in top.
Beat egg white till frothy; brush on top. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes. While warm drizzle with mixture of powdered sugar and 3 to 4 tsp. milk. Cool; cut into bars.
