"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
This recipe was developed after eating some wild rice soup in a restaurant near Lake Mille Lacs in MN. It was been taken to many get-togethers and has always received rave reviews. Additional suggestions:
1. Use canned chicken breast, flaked, and cut up chicken breast for texture.
2. Add finely chopped carrots--provides color.
3. Add 1/4 cup raw white rice, cooked with wild rice, and 1 cup water.
4. You can substitute chicken bouillon for chicken broth.
5. Add a touch of celery seed.
