2/3 C. SUGAR
1/3 C. MOLASSES
1 EGG
4 TBSP. MELTED SHORTENING
1 1/2 C. FLOUR
1 TSP. BAKING SODA
1 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1/2 TSP. SALT
1 C. BOILING WATER

Directions:
Directions:
STIR TOGETHER SUGAR, EGG AND MOLASSES. SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS, ADD SUGAR MIXTURE. STIR, ADD BOILING WATER AND MIX WELL. POUR IN GREASED PAN, 8 X 8 INCHES. BAKE AT 375 FROM 30-35 MINUTES. SERVE WARM WITH WHIPPED CREAM.
