Ingredients: In a saucepan, boil then cool: -2 cups of milk -1/2 cup of shortening -1/2 cup of sugar In a small bowl, combine then let dissolve (wait until milk mixture is almost cooled to lukewarm so the yeast does not get too big, then die): -1 cup lukewarm water -2 heaping Tablespoons of yeast -2 teaspoons of sugar Other ingredients: -2 1/2 teaspoons of salt -3 beaten eggs -7-9 cups of flour -When cooled to lukewarm, poor milk mixture into mixer -Add 1 cup of flour, yeast mixture, salt, & eggs -Beat until smooth -Add rest of flour a little at a time while mixing (until dough pulls away from sides of bowl but is not stiff) -Place dough in grased owl, cover with sprayed plastic wrap, & let rise until doubled in size -Punch down & let rise until doubled in size again -Roll out 1/2 of the dough on a floured counter until 1/2 in. thick, then cut into circles (I did that with a round glass) & place on greased cookie sheet *I put butter on the dough circles, then stretched them a little lengthwise and folded them in half to create an opening roll, but you don't have to do that -Let rise for about 30 minutes (I like to cover it with a thin towel, but I guess you don't have to) -Bake at 375F for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown (I think it took a little longer for that, maybe because I had folded them over, which doubled them...?)
