½ cup milk
2 sticks of butter or one large marg.

1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup shortening (white Crisco)

DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN
Bake 325 for 1 1/2 hours
Use a tube cake pan to make a real pound cake

Sissy made this cake for every special occasion and it has become the families favorite cake. No one has seemed to master Sis's exact flavors and texture....although Lauren has come the closest and the most diligent on this.
Great Toasted.
