2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 T milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans
1 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup maraschino cherries
Crushed cornflakes
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients; combine shortening and sugar, cream well. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Mix well. Add pecans, dates, chopped cherries. Shape into balls - roll in crushed cornflakes.

Place on cookie sheets, top with 1/4 cherry. Bake in 375º oven for 10-12 minutes.
