2/3 cup water
1 cup raisins
2 tsp. soda
2/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 2/3 cups sugar
2 cups pumpkin
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/3 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 cup nuts if desired.Grandma didn't use them

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water, raisins and soda to a boil and set aside to cool.In a large bowl, cream shortening, and sugar. Add eggs, and rest of the ingredients. Add cooled water and raisins. Mix well.Bake in 2 bread pans for 1 hour in a 325' oven. Cool before removing from the pans.
