1 2/3 cup dark brown sugar, 1 cup milk, 2 tbsp unsalted butter, 3-5 tbsp of whipping cream.

For the frosting, combine brown sugar and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then cover and cook for 3 minutes. Remove the lid and continue to boil, without stirring, until mixture reaches 236ºF on a sugar thermometer. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and add the butter, but do not stir it in. Let cool until lukewarm then beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in enough cream to obtain a spreadable consistency. If necessary, refrigerate to thinken more.
