2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp soda
1 egg
2 cups flour
3/4 cup milk
pinch of salt


Frosting:
2 cups confectioner's sugar
3 Tbsp milk
2 tsp margarine
1 tsp vanilla

Yield: 3 dozen
Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Melt chocolate and butter. Add milk, then egg, then brown sugar. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to chocolate mixture. Drop by spoonful and bake at 350º. Make one cookie to test if the amount of flour is right for a cake-like cookie. If "runny" add 1/2 cup more flour. Cool and frost. Frosting: Warm milk and margarine, and add a little at a time to confectioners sugar for slightly stiff frosting. Then add vanilla.
