1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
2/3 cup + 2 T. shortening
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
9 T cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt and soda. Add shortening, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat about 2 minutes, scraping bowl constantly. Drop by teaspoonfuls on prepared cookie sheets. Bake 350 about 10 minutes.
