1 cup flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp milk
2 cups oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Beat margarine and sugars till creamy. Add eggs and beat. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk. Stir. Add oatmeal and stir. Add nuts and/or raisins, and/or chips if desired. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes.
