1 ¼ c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
½ c. shortening
1 tsp. soda
1 ¾ c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
½ c. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, shortening. Sift dry ingredient. Mix cocoa with ½ cup of hot water. Add dry ingredients to the shorting mixture alternating flour and hot cocoa. Bake in greased and floured pan at 350º.
