Ingredients:

3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
6 Tbsp. Shortening
2/3 C. Milk
1 Egg, beaten
1-2 Tbsp. Broth (from the cooked chicken)

Directions:
Directions:
Make my Chicken and Dumpling recipe through the gravy step, but substitute the dumplings with this dumplings recipe.

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk and egg. Add enough broth from chicken to obtain a slightly sticky dough. Roll out dough onto floured waxed paper with rolling pin to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut dumplings into 1-1/2 to 2 inch pieces. Place noodle-like dumplings in heated pan of chicken, on top of chicken pieces. Cook for 10 minutes uncovered, then cover pan and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Personal Notes:
This dumpling recipe was passed down to me from my Grandma Bessie Polk. It is a bit more work than dropped dumplings, but it is worth it.
