4 lg. potatoes,boiled, cooled, and chopped
1/2 med onion, chopped
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
4-5 slices day old bread, tore into pieces
margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1/2 stick of margarine in a skillet, add the onions and saute them until they are transparent. Add the balance of the ingredients and fry until the potatoes are browned slightly. Keep chopping the bread and potatoes together while they are cooking.

I 'm pretty sure this is a depression dish my folks used to stretch the potatoes thorough the long cold Michigan winter's. My mother used a # 2 can with the top cut off to chop the ingredients together. This is really a pretty tasty dish that we enjoy several time a month.
