Pecan Pie Recipe

1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 c. finley chopped pecans
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
1 unbaked pie shell

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Cream shortening with sugar. Add pecans and mix well. Combine eggs, salt, syrup, milk, vanilla and add to sugar mixture. Mix well.
Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in hot oven for 10 minutes, then reduce to low (325 F) for 30-35 minutes. Let cool and chill.

If you wish, serve with sweetened whipped cream.
